My friend found this baby gecko on Sunday and gave him to me since I have microfeeder colonies. It appears to be an introduced Mediterranean house gecko (Hemidactylus turcicus).

Randomly discovered that Anisomorpha ferruginea phasmids eat guava leaves (Psidium guajava).

Well it’s about time you decided to hatch! Only took you a year!

Managed to find another tiger beetle species. I am now attempting to captive-rear C. repanda: the bronzed tiger beetle.

I wish I could have videoed her high-speed hunting right before this, but it seemed unlikely that I could have gotten the camera inside the plastic shoe box without interrupting said hunt. Regardless, I managed to record her eating the Blatta lateralis roach nymph she caught afterwards.

For the third year in a row, I am attempting to rear six-spotted tiger beetles. The last two years, I seem to have only been able to catch one male each. This one seems to be a female, and I also started hunting them much earlier in their season. I should be able to catch more soon.
